High Impact Programs
Over the years, our classroom visits have been very popular and no doubt enriching to the students. Yet in the back of our minds, we had a tugging feeling that there might be a better way. A way to connect with students throughout the school year, to build concept on top of concept and thereby make the learning stick just a bit better…
We are happy to annouce that in two of the school districts we serve, administrators and teachers have been supportive of trying a new way. In general, these high impact programs involve 2 field trips to the Center and 6 or more visits in the classroom. At each school, we weave nature-based teaching and learning around the science curriculum and include lesson components that are interdisciplinary.
These three pilots are works in progress, changing as we discover the kinds of things that are capturing the children’s interests and curiousity. (Details will be added eventually. But if you are dying to know now, give us a call.)
