Tales of Tails
Each student dons an animal tail.  Classmates guess what animal the tail comes from and discover how that animal uses its tail.

Beautiful Birds
Yellow Warbler CloseupBirds are animals with feathers, beaks, and funny feet. Their babies come from eggs. Many birds build nests. They sing songs, too. Your students will see photographs, feathers and nests. They will listen to bird songs, and role play the life of a bird.

If I'm really quiet, you won't see me. .  .Animal Babies

Animals don’t take care of their babies the same way people take care of their children.  Different animals have different ways.  Children will learn about some ways that are similar to human ways, and some that are very, very different.

  • NY 2.2a Plants and animals closely resemble their parents and other individuals in their species.
  • NY 4.1a Plants and animals have life cycles. These may include beginning of a life, development into an adult, reproduction as an adult, and eventually death.
