Monarch Mama, Barbara Case will be on hand to show you how she attaches tiny tags to the butterflies’ wings so that scientists can track their migration.

Admission to the building is free on Sundays, but since this is a fundraiser, we will charge you $5 to go into the Butterfly Room. It will be totally worth it! Bring your camera.

The Sunday closest to Earth Day (April 22) is a great time to get down to the Center to enjoy early spring. This year the date is Sunday, April 26th, from 1-4:30 pm so mark your calendars!

• Sign up for Summer Day Camp Programs and take advantage of the early bird discount.

Sundays are free admission days. However, there will be a $5 fee for the Earth Day program in our multi-purpose room. All proceeds will help feed and house our live animals.

This year the theme is “How People Help Animals” and we’ll talk about all the ways that people care for, help out, or rescue animals. Whether it is an abandoned pet or orphaned woodchucks, people can help.

There will be live animals, of course. That is the theme of the day! There are few things that connect people more to the earth than a live animal.

It’s our annual tradition! Instead of going shopping on the day after Thanksgiving, come to Audubon. Explore our exhibits, walk the trails, and… just for fun… make some homemade holiday gifts. Our regular admission fee will apply (members and children free, non-member adults pay $5) and there will be donation cans at each craft table to help cover the cost of glue and such.

Bring the whole family; there will be crafts for all ages.

Trails are open dawn until dusk.  The building will be open from 10am until 4:30pm.

Members only may register now through September 14th. After that, registration is open to everyone. Last day to register is Friday, September 26th.

Fee is $6 for members, $8 for non-members, $4 for chldren 4-12, free for children 3 and under.

Call or stop in early, as slots fill up fast. You can register by phone at 716-569-2345 with a VISA or MasterCard, or at the front desk during Center hours (Monday-Saturday 10-4:30, Sunday 1-4:30) with cash or check. A mail-in form appeared on page 6 of the September-October newsletter.

It’s our annual 5K trail run/walk to raise money for the support of Liberty, our non-releasable, injured Bald Eagle.

Registration:  Check-in and same-day registration will be at the Audubon Center & Sanctuary, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, NY from 8:00 to 9:45 a.m. (Riverside Road is located off Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren). Race starts at 10 a.m. Special children’s events for ages 10 and under will take place after the race begins.  Click here for a registration form!

Fees: Race/Walk: $18, $20 if registering after Friday, September 19. Audubon members receive $2.00 discount off of registration / Children’s Events: Free.

Awards: Long Sleeve T-Shirts will be awarded to all pre-registered participants. Shirts will be available on race day while supplies last. Prizes will be awarded to the first three overall male and female finishers in both the run and walk categories. Age group awards will be given to the top three finishers in each division for both the runners and walkers.
